Oval with reeded edges. One with a length of 52.5 cm, weight 1315 g, the other one 53.5 cm, weight 1208 g.

Wear and scuffs due to age and use. The lighter dish with a few minor dents in the bowl.

Osmo Lares was a distinguished Finnish diplomat who devoted his career to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His early postings took him to Prague (1956–1959), Cologne (1960–1964), and Paris (1966–1969). He subsequently served as Ambassador to Tokyo – with side accreditation to Seoul – from 1972 to 1978, followed by appointments to Canberra (1983–1987), The Hague (1987–1989), and Dublin (1989–1991).
