Contemporary half pigskin, spine with raised bands and ms number ”3”, original ties partly preserved. Pages clean with occasional old marginalia. Somewhat worn, but in attractive original condition. Some 45 blank leaves bound at end, richly annotated in an early hand with both prayers and study notes.

VD16 M 3938. Originally published in 1554. A theological treatise used to test candidates for public ordination and recommendation for evangelical ministry. For obvious reasons it is often found richly annotated in one way or another.
