Hjalmar Grahn
Hjalmar Georg Grahn was a Finland-Swedish painter, born in 1882 in Kotka, Finland. He studied art at the Ateneum in Helsinki and later in Paris. After living and working in South America for a period, he moved to Stockholm in 1917, where he continued his career as an artist.
Grahn painted portraits, figures, still lifes, and landscapes, often featuring motifs from Stockholm. He mainly worked with oil and pastel. In 1944, he became a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Hjalmar Grahn died in 1949, and his art is represented in several museums today, including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and the Ateneum in Helsinki.
