Athlete with Eagle

Bronze, signed “Alfred Ohlson Sculp 1916”, with Herman Bergman’s foundry stamp. Inscription: “Swedish Sports Federation training prize 1916–1919 in hammer throwing, established by Isaac Westergren, permanently won by C.J. Lind, IF Göta, Karlstad”, with engravings for 1916–19 on the sides, and a loose silver plaque. Height 44.5 cm.

Provenance

Friidrottaren Carl-Johan "Massa" Lind (1883-1965). "Massa" tävlade i Slägga, Diskus och Viktkastning. Han vann bland annat silver i släggkastning vid OS i Antwerpen 1920. Vid detta OS vann han även brons i viktkastning.
