More information

The Kingdom of Silla was located in present-day Korea and dominated most of the peninsula during its golden age. There are still traces of the Kingdom of Silla in today's South Korea, such as the Sokkuram Temple located on Mount T'oham in Kyongju, South Korea. The temple is estimated to have been built in the 8th century and is often considered to have the finest works of ancient Buddhist art in Asia.
