Lage Lindell ingick i grupperingen 47 års män, men lämnade snart det konkreta måleriet för att gå vidare med ett helt eget organiskt formspråk där figurer och landskap blandas. Lindell är en av efterkrigstidens främsta målare och den aktuella målningen ”Landskap med vättar” utfört under 70-talet är ett sparsmakat, koloristiskt mästerstycke med stiliserade fåglar mot ett antytt landskap påminnandes om de Gotlandsmotiv konstnären arbetar med under samma tid.
