Bengt Lindström föddes 1925 i byn Storsjö kapell, Jämtland och dog 2008 i Sundsvall. Han är känd som bildkonstnär och har haft stort genomslag med sitt pastost abstrakta spontanitetsmåleri med starka färger och förvridna ansikten. Lindström utbildade sig på Konstfack och gick i lära hos både Isaac Grünewald och Otte Sköld. Han studerade i såväl Köpenhamn som i Chicago och bodde under flera år i Paris, där han antogs vid både André Lhote och Fernand Légers målarskolor. Genom sitt intresse för färgernas inneboende kraft kom han under 1950-talet i kontakt med Cobra-gruppen i Frankrike. Lindström gjorde flera monumentala målningar och ett av hans enskilt största verk är silomålningen i Örebro. Han finns representerad på Nationalmuseum i Stockholm, Moderna Museet i Stockholm och Göteborgs Konstmuseum.
