"För Karin Parrow, liksom för de andra Göteborgskoloristerna, var färgen det främsta uttrycksmedlet. Måleriet skulle fånga och förmedla både syn-, doft- och känselintryck. I hennes målningar förenade hon det hon faktiskt såg med det hon visste om motivet. Perspektivregler åsidosattes till förmån för uttryck och bildens helhetsverkan. Färgen användes till att beskriva ett sinnestillstånd snarare än till att berätta, beskriva eller särskilja."
