Contemporary vellum, lightly soiled and worn, lacking front flyleaf, faint waterstain to lower margin of first 30 pp. Engraved bookplate of ”Bibliotehca Friederici Reth-Scholtzii” printed (!) on reverse of first title. Later library stamp. Bookplate (Cnattingius).

Lautenschlager, Bibliographie der badischen Geschichte, 4993. ”Eine Grundlage fur alle spätere pfalzische Geschichtsforschung.” Originally published in 1599, this is the second edition. ”The palatine diplomat and lawyer Marquard Freher (1565-1614) from Augsburg [...] wrote a notable treatise, Originum Palatinarum Commentarius, defending the historical legality of the Palatine Electoship in 1599 against Maximilian I's court secretary Christoph Gewold" (Andrew L.
