London, James Tonson & John Watts, 1716. 8vo. (18 x 11 cms.) [24] + 444 pp. + engraved frontispiece + 3 folding engraved maps. Title printed in red & black, text with engraved vignettes.

Later red straight-grained morocco gilt, marbled endleaves, all edges gilt, spine darkened, insignificant wear. Armorial supralibros of John Warde of Squerryes (1721-1775) in gilt on front cover. A loosely inserted catalogue clipping attributes the binding to Roger Payne (1739-1797).
