Contemporary full calf, somewhat worn. Spine richly gilt in compartments, speckled edges, marbled endleaves, damage with slight loss to top of spine.

Provenance: Gilt crowned monogram on both covers of Swedish Queen Ulrika Eleonora (1688-1741), sister of King Karl XII and reigning monarch 1719-20. With some annotions and scribbles in her hand in pencil, some dated in the 1720s. Remains of a later printed (?royal) library label in gutter of title. Bookplate of collector Christian Hammer (1818-1905), ownership inscription in ink of Per Hierta (1864-1922) on front flyleaf dated 1906, evidently the book was a gift from Johannes Rudbeck (1867-1935). Sold with Hierta’s book by Björck & Börjesson in 1932 (catalogue 272, no. 1537).
