The 2008 exhibition was Makode Linde's first major presentation of his Afromantics art project.
“Makode Linde challenged the Minister of Culture and made an impression in both Swedish and international art history. Both CNN and Al-Jazeera reported from World Art Day at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm 2012.

What did the then Minister of Culture and Sports Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth think when she stood in front of a living "cake" with a raised knife? That it is not an ordinary day at work?
- Oooouch, oooouch, oooouch, replied the cake.
The rest is youtube history. Four million views and 70,000 comments later, both Makode Linde and Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth became known around the world, after the minister's "cake gate" at the Moderna Museet. ”
