Maria Chevskas skapande kretsar kring det historiska förhållandet mellan konst och det skrivna ordet, hon skriver konst och målar ord. Chevska bor och är verksam i London och var mellan 1990 och 2016 professor på Ruskin School of Art och Oxford University. Chevskas konst har ställts ut bland annat i Storbritannien, Frankrike, Italien och USA.
