Lage Lindell ingick i grupperingen 47 års män, men lämnade snart det konkreta måleriet för att gå vidare med ett helt eget organiskt formspråk där figurer och landskap blandas. Lindell är en av efterkrigstidens främsta målare och den aktuella målningen utförd under 70-talet är ett exempel på de figurer som Lage skildrade både avskalat och virtuost.
