Lars Jacob Röök besökte Italien två gånger; 1807 och 1824-27.
Castor och Pollux templet uppfördes av kejsar Tiberius år 6 e Kr. Templet bestod ursprungligen av åtta korintiska pelare på kortsidorna och 11 på långsidorna. Ruinen är en av de mest kända lämningarna på Forum Romanum, Roms centrum under Romartiden.
