Venetia, Francesco Rocca à San Polo, 1554 (colophon). 8vo. (15 x 10 cms.) [12] + 404 leaves (final leaf blank). Woodcut on title.

Old vellum, slightly worn, manuscript title on spine, endpapers renewed. Leaf x2 with long, neatly mended tear largely confined to inner margin. In a modern slipcase.

First Italian edition of this important biography of Skanderbeg (Gjergj Kastrioti, 1405-1468), who organized the defence against the Ottomans in the mid 15th century. The first edition in Latin appeared in 1510.
