The blade is inlaid with figures, writing and tendrils. Repousséweork. Lenght 121 cm. Length 117 cm and the small one lenght 55 cm. (Scabbards included.)

Glassed showcase in oak, 133x58,5 cm, depth 13,5 cm.

Minor wear.

Provenance

Dr U. R. Remitz, Personnel Director at WHO in Geneva 1966-70; stationed at the regional Asian headquarter in New Dehli 1970-76 and at the regional Europe headquarter in Copenhagen 1976-82.
During his time in New Dehli he made extensive travels throughout Asia. During these travels he bought several objects in various countries. Some of them presented at this auction.

This sword is not designed for use as a weapon: it is a ritual temple dha. Elaborately decorated temple dhas such as this one were not used in Burma as weapons, but as ritual objects during temple ceremonies.
