Alvar Johansson´s Watches

The watchmaker Alvar Johansson started his career as a journeyman at his uncle Janne Johnsson’s watch and fine mechanic’s workshop. On August 8, 1944, he opened his own watch shop in Helsingborg: Alvar Johansson's Watch Shop. Alvar was also in charge of the clocks at Sofiero's castle and eventually became the Royal Court supplier. When Alvar passed away, he left a large collection from the shop to his family, many of which are presented in this theme auction.
