A Finnish folkart long pile ryijy-rug dated 1842. Circa 180 x 135 cm.
Bride's ryijy-rug refers to the year and initials. The central area is almost unpatterned, but the lower part is bound with decorative crosses The wide inner frame has a large diamond pattern and small diamond shapes in between. The narrow outer frame is decorated with a herringbone pattern.
Wear due to age and use. Minor repairs. Damages.
