A Finnish folkart long pile ryijy-rug/ blanket dated 1877. Circa 200 x 140 cm.

Double-sided. The so-called castle rug. Typically knotted in the central area with colourful diamond shapes. Two-piece border with an old-fashioned stripe pattern on the outer frame.
Wear due to age and use. Damages. Back cover repaired. Missing pile in places.
