Hanna Frosterus-Segerstråle painted the first version of ”The little patient” in the year 1889. Immediately after its completion the work ended up as a prize in a lottery. For this reason the ”little patient” Ebba Björklund, daughter in a pharmacist family, asked Frosterus-Segerstråle more than thirty years later to make another version of the painting. This work was executed in 1926 and has been in the possession of the same family since then.
