A Sèvres porcelain cup and sacuer, probably 1770's.

Model 'gobelet 'litron' et soucoupe,' of the 4th size. Blue ground, so called 'bleu nouveau' painted with a birch perched on a branch within reserve. Bottoms with interlaced L's and the cup with 'N' for year 1776 and painter's signature for Francois-Joseph Aloncle (active 1758-81, primarily a depicter of birds,) the saucer with M for year 1771 and unidentifed painter's signature.

Wear due to age and use. Possibly an assembled set.
