Jeremy Deller är född 1966 och bor och arbetar i London. Han vann Turner-priset 2004 och tilldelades 2010 Albert Medal of the Royal Society for the stimulering of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce (RSA). Jeremy Deller är kanske främst känd för att arbeta kollaborativt med allmänheten och ofta med politiskt präglade projekt. Deller spårar sitt breda intresse för konst och kultur till barndomens besök på museer, som exempelvis Horniman Museum i södra London. Efter att ha träffat Andy Warhol 1986 tillbringade Deller två veckor på The Factory i New York. Han började göra konstverk i början av 1990-talet och visade dem ofta utanför konventionella gallerier. 1993, medan hans föräldrar var på semester (han var 27 år, bor fortfarande hemma), använde han i hemlighet familjens hem för en utställning med titeln "Open Bedroom".
