Göran Rydén är utbildad vid Konstfack samt vid Kungliga konsthögskolan i Stockholm 1985-1990. Göran Rydéns måleri skapar en imaginär verklighet och visar hur något kan skildras visuellt på en plan yta. Rydén skulpterar ett föremål, som han även presenterar i form av en oljemålning eller akvarell. Skulpturerna kan vara gjorda av träbitar, verktygsskaft eller pinnstolsdelar – ”objets trouvés” - som han sedan för samman till scenbilder. Ur dessa bryter han ut några, som får en abstrakt slutlig form.
