Laurel leaves on a straw frame, two green-white-red bands with gold fringe and text in gold: "47 Gran Premio d´Italia" and "Autodromo Nazionale di Monza 12 Settembre 1976 - 1o Assoluto". Diameter approx. 85 cm

Fragile with damage, leaves defective and dry and missing in places. Bindings with stains from the victory champagne and the text faded.

Provenance

Won by Ronnie Peterson, Italian Grand Prix at Monza 1976.
Åke Strandberg (1947-2016), Sweden's first international mechanic in F1 and a close friend of Ronnie.
Thence by decent.

More information

Ronnie ranked this victory as perhaps his greatest as he felt that his car, a March-Ford, was so inferior that it should not be possible to win with it.
