More information

I Madeleine Alemans konst flätas motsatser samman.

In Madeleine Aleman’s art, opposites intertwine. She combines real life with fantasy, the worldly with the holy, and cultures with other cultures. Aleman is also fascinated with historical individuals, particularly mystics. The artist’s choice of material and expressions varies since she approaches the artistic process with the openness and enthusiasm of a researcher. A project can take on many expressions depending on what she discovers during her research. Aleman is strongly influences by esotericism and psychoanalysis. In her artistic practice, she employs methods that explore hypnagogic states.
Madeleine Aleman has studied at Konstfack in Stockholm and is even a certified art therapist. She has exhibited all over Sweden, but also in Spain, China and Canada.
