An 18K gold ring set with square step cut topaz by Wiwen Nilsson 1944

Brushed gold, topaz measures 10x10mm, size 16.75/52.5, weight approx 6.61 grams

Remade in 1947, replaced rock crystal with topaz. Minor scratches. Small chip to the edge of the gemstone.

More about Wiwen Nilsson

Wiwen Nilsson was a Swedish designer born in Copenhagen. He studied at his father's workshop, as well as in Germany, Denmark, and France. Nilsson is primarily known for his objects created in silver with geometric, clean, and austere forms. Nilsson debuted at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923. At the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, he had his major breakthrough, and his innovative modernism was a success. Nilsson created, among other things, jewellery, table silver, and services.
