Henning Nilsson was a Swedish ceramist. As a young man, he had to support himself by working with everything from tailoring, violin making, ceramics, to antiques. He got to know the sculptor Robert Nilsson and Signe Persson Melin, both of whom inspired him to focus on ceramics. He was self-taught as a ceramist. His main interest was in developing interesting glazes, and he became particularly skilled at various oxblood glazes.
