Torbjörn Anderssons inledde sin karriär som pressfotograf i början av 1960-talet. Under sitt liv hann han arbeta i över 30 år för tidningen Expressen men även för Arbetet och Aftonbladet. Andersson blev bland annat uppmärksammad för en serie bilder han tog 1989 i Peking, vid massakern på Himmelska fridens torg.
Andersson var en av Sveriges mest prisbelönta pressfotografer och utsågs 2002 till Årets Fotograf. Han har även tilldelats utnämningen Årets Bild och Årets Bildreportage. I boken "Fem decennier" utgiven av Malmö Museer, 2002, samlas hans fotografiska gärning.

Artist

Torbjörn Andersson started his career as a professional photographer at the start of the 1960s. During his life Andersson managed to work not only over 30 years in the magazine Expressen, but also for the magazines Arbetet and Aftonbladet. Andersson gained particular attention for a series of photographs he took in Beijing in 1989, capturing the massacre at Tiananmen Square.
Andersson was one of Swedens most highly acclaimed press photographers, and was crowned ‘photographer of the year’ in 2002. He was also awarded Picture of the Year and Reportage of the Year. His photographic work is featured in the book ‘Fem Decennier’, published by Malmö museums in 2002.
