Helsinki Winter Sale

Bukowskis is proud to present Helsinki Winter Sale – The auction with the best of the best in art, antique furniture, works of art, silver, jewellery and watches. This exceptional auction offers outstanding art spanning from classic to modern and contemporary. Among the highlights you will find pieces by Finland’s most renowned and sought-after artists, including Helene Schjerfbeck, Eero Järnefelt, Tove Jansson, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, and more. Additionally, the auction features a fascinating selection of prints by top international artists.

Helene Schjerfbeck is represented by several works that illustrate her artistic evolution. Notable highlights include Portrait of a man (1881) and The Broken String (1927) —a modern reinterpretation of her 1892 painting of the same theme. The auction also presents an extraordinary collection of silver, spanning from the 16th century to the late 20th century. The furniture department presents a magnificent buffet by Eliel Saarinen, from circa 1900. This piece, originally owned by Evert Skogström, a former Finnish minister, is a testament to the timeless elegance of Saarinen’s design.
