Provenance

The watch has been in the same family's possession since the 1960s.

"I am the owner of this unique Omega watch, which has been in my family's possession since it was ordered by my father, a great Omega enthusiast. The watch has never changed hands and has been exceptionally well-preserved in safe storage since his passing in 1972. During a major cleaning a few years ago, we rediscovered it, and it underwent its first service at Omega in 2023. Omega has guaranteed that the watch is now functioning perfectly and is ready to be worn into the future."

More information

The Omega Railmaster reference 2914 was introduced in 1957 as part of Omega’s "Trilogy" of professional watches, alongside the Speedmaster and Seamaster. Designed for professionals working in environments with strong magnetic fields, such as scientists and railway engineers, the Railmaster featured a soft iron inner case to protect the movement from magnetism.

The present example is a rare 2914-4, featuring the distinctive "lollipop" seconds hand, adding a unique aesthetic to the timepiece. It also retains its original radium dial, which has developed an attractive patina over time.

The watch is fitted with its correct 7077 bracelet, complete with the desirable short clasp and No. 6 end links. In 2023, it underwent servicing by Omega, during which certain parts were replaced. These components have been retained and are included with the watch, along with a new Omega bracelet. Additionally, an Extract from the Archives confirms its production on September 12, 1960, and delivery to Sweden.
