Peter Stanick was born in Pittsburgh in 1953 and is currently active in Florida. He studied at Carnegie Mellon University in 1975 and then earned an MFA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1977. Stanick had his first solo exhibition at Mendelson Gallery in Pittsburgh in 1981. Works by Stanick are included in the collections of, among others, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Osaka Museum of Art, and Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh.
