A German silver parcel-gilt tankard, mark of Zacharias Pfannenschmidt, Quedlinburg, around 1680.

Partially gilded, and internally gilded. Chased and répoussé decoration featuring cherubs making music in a natural setting. Thumb grip in the form of a face, the lid topped with a large flower, the sides of the lid adorned with flowers and figures. Marked Z.P for Zacharias Pfannenschmidt, father or son, and Q for Quedlinburg.
Height 19.5 cm, total diameter of the base 19 cm. Weight 1133 g.

Wear commensurate with age. Tarnish. Scratches to the bottom, numbers marked by pen and stamp.
