Embroidery partially with 'forbidden knots' featuring polychrome vases with flowers against a light background, woven mounting with flowers, lined with olive green silk, 40.5 x 34 cm.
Embroidery with polychrome butterflies and flowers against a red background, woven mounting with flowers, lined with olive green silk, 33.5 x 41 cm.
Embroidery with a motif of flowers partially in metallic thread on a light turquoise background, woven mounting with dragons, lined with orange silk, 28.5 x 33 cm.
Embroidery with a swallow amidst cloud formations against a purple background, woven mounting with flowers, lined with light blue silk with woven auspicious symbols, 27.5 x 29.5 cm.
Woven textile with a motif of a phoenix surrounded by flowers and butterflies over foaming waves with auspicious objects and ruyi formations, originally a lower part of a robe, woven mounting with flowers, lined with olive green silk, 26 x 29.5 cm.

Provenance

The collection of Elis Eklöw (1894-1984). Elis Eklöw started working for the familys import house August Eklöw (founded by his father in 1898) in 1914. The company became focused on import from Asia after Elis Eköws first trip to China and Japan in 1922.
