'Eighteen Best Kabuki Plays' is a collection of plays established by Ichikawa Danjuro VII that represents the special 'aragoto' acting style of the Danjuro kabuki line of actors. In the Meiji period other acting families began to gather their most successful plays into similar collections. This series presents leading actors in famous roles, some of which are still popular and performed today.
