Arne Jones utbildade sig vid Konstakademien och avslutade sina studier 1947. Han skapade abstrakta former där även det tomma utrymmet blev en del av verket, lika betydelsefullt som det fasta materialet. En viktig del i hans konstnärliga utveckling var att han studerade balettdansöser i rörelse. Det var ofta själva rörelsen som inspirerade honom till hur han skulle utforma sina motiv.
