Den gamla stenbryggan vid stranden i Steninge i Halmstad anlades för många decennier sedan. Konstnären Axel Olson och hans kollegor i Halmstad-gruppen var flitiga besökare på 1930-talet. Axel Olson hämtade där inspiration till auktionens gouache, ”Stenbryggan”.

Tidens tand har sedan dess gjort sitt och bryggan har den senaste tiden varit ganska förfallen, men 2023 valde Halmstad kommun och Landsbygdsprojektet att göra en totalrenovering av den kulturhistoriska stenbryggan i Steninge.
