The Danish architect and industrial designer Sidse Werner was born in 1931 and studied at the College of Architecture and Industrial Design in Copenhagen. After several years as an assistant in the office of Nanna Ditzel, in 1969 she had the opportunity to study plastic production in the US through the Danish Bank's Jubilee Foundation. In 1970, she established her own studio where she designed furniture, rugs, lamps, and accessories, gaining international recognition through her umbrella stand Series 9 as well as her Coat Tree coat rack.
