Davide Benati, född 1949 i Reggio Emilia i Italien, är målare och grafiker med utbildning från Liceo Artistico i Modena samt Accademia di Brera i Milano och Accademia di Belle Arti i Bologna. Benati debuterade med separatutställning i Milano 1972 och deltog under 1980-talet i flera internationella konstsammanhang, däribland Venedigbiennalen (1982 och 1990) och Rom-Quadriennalen (1986). Hans konst har ställts ut i Italien och internationellt.
Hans bildspråk rör sig mellan det abstrakta och det figurativa, ofta inspirerat av naturformer som blad och växtstrukturer. Han arbetar med akvarell, etsning och andra grafiska tekniker. Han använder ofta tunt, halvtransparent papper som en aktiv del av verket. Verken kännetecknas av färgmässig finess och ett koncentrerat uttryck där materialets egenskaper får stort utrymme.
