"Exotic dial" is a term that refers to a dial configuration most closely associated with vintage Rolex Daytona watches, generally featuring a contrasting outer minute track and distinctive sub-dial graphics such as "square-top lollipop" markers. Daytona watches fitted with this exotic dial configuration are commonly referred to as "Paul Newman" dials. Similar exotic/"Paul Newman-style" design elements can also be found on other Swiss watches from the late 1960s to the 1970s, such as the present Candino.
