Sjöstugan, just north of Borgholm on Öland, is a café that was run for several decades by the artist Axel Kargel and his wife Elsa. Sjöstugan developed into a cultural oasis. The Swedish poet Nils Ferlin and the author Ivar Lo-Johansson were part of the group known as the Klarabohemians, who, along with other artists, became regular guests of the Kargels in Borgholm.
