The Carina and Lennart Bogg Collection. Carina and Lennart Bogg moved to China in 1983, where Lennart worked for UNICEF and Carina at the Norwegian Embassy’s preschool. Their time there coincided with China’s reopening after the Cultural Revolution – a period marked by strong artistic development and increased international exchange. Through close contact with artists and visits to exhibitions and galleries, the Swedish couple’s art collection gradually took shape. It was presented in Sweden at Liljevalchs konsthall in the exhibition “Masters from China” in the summer of 1989. Since then, the collection has continued to grow, reflecting the couple’s interest in China’s rich cultural life and diverse artistic expressions.

Zhou Dingfang (b. 1965, Yixing, Jiangsu) is one of the most innovative contemporary Yixing potters. Raised among Yixing’s historic dragon kilns, she apprenticed in 1984 to master sculptor Xu Xiutang and later completed advanced ceramic design training in Nanjing. She then returned to work at Yixing Purple Clay Factory No. 2.

Zhou’s work is inspired by nature and everyday life in Yixing, with teapots depicting local buildings, village scenes, and naturalistic motifs such as bamboo, wood, and leather. She was awarded Master Status in 1995, at the age of 30.

Her internationally acclaimed works have been exhibited since 1989 by the Garth Clark Gallery in New York and shown worldwide. A bamboo-form teapot of hers was selected as a Chinese postage stamp. Her pieces are held in major museum collections, including the British Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, and the China National Art Museum.
