More information

The jewelry is based on the so-called Anjala jewelry which has the same shape as those for sale. According to legend, the Anjala jewelery was a symbol of the Anjala conspiracy, but this cannot be said to be true with certainty. The name of the Jewelry being sold comes from Princess Sofia Albertina of Sweden (1753–1829), sister of King Gustav III. A princess who lived in a way a very free life at the Swedish court and also never married. Sofia Albertina had a great interest in theater and dance but also believed that women should demand better rights and often took her female employees in defense when they were treated badly at court. Like the members of the Anjala conspiracy, Sofia Albertina wanted to see an end to the Russo-Swedish war and joined the opposition in 1788 and tried to persuade Gustav III to make peace with Russia.
