More information

The jewellery for sale is inspired by the Renaissance rings where a large center stone was flanked by so-called petals that were richly decorated with enamel. In these newly made versions, the enamel has been replaced with precious gemstones and the middle stone has the same cut as the the gemstones used in the original rings: table cut. The name of the jewellery is taken from Katarina Jagellonica (1526–1583) who owned a ring with this look. Katarina Jagellonica was Johan III's wife and is best known as the Duchess of Finland as she and Johan III lived at Turku Castle as Johan III was Duke of Finland. Upon her arrival in Finland, Katarina Jagellonica brought with her the Renaissance style in the form of, among other things, jewellery, fashion and interior design.
