Bought at an exhibition in Karlshamn Sweden 1948. Thence by descent.

According to a local Swedish newspaper article (1948) and transcript of a german offical document dated 1940, his paintig was by Goebbels personaly poited out to 'Entartete Kunst' and expelled from the exhibition 'Gäste des Verins Berliner Künstler' in 1940. It was not a work of art suitable for the german people. The paiting was returned to th artist.

In 1947 Hillern-Flinch moved to Sweden. The picture was exhibited in Karlshamn the year after.
He was then already acquainted with Swedan after that he in 1919 was a student at Carl Wilhelmsons painting academy in Stockholm.
