Behind the hinged double doors is an arrangement of shelves, drawers and compartments. Drawer with pencil text "Jackson Desk Trimmer Richmond State of Indiana USA Dec 21 1887". Height 136 cm, width 109 cm, depth 80 cm.

The writing desktop is missing. Wing screw missing. Cracks due to dryness of the material. Wear due to age and use. Parts missing. Minor damages.

William Wooton founded the Wooton Desk Company in 1870 and opened an office for his four employees at 115 East Washington Street in Indianapolis. He began manufacturing his patented design around 1874, the product idea officially called the "Wooton Patent Cabinet Office Secretary Desk" was a super-organised desk that would accommodate all kinds of paper documents one might need during this time. The company only operated for about 15 years.
