The posters is a visionary collaboration between Mathieu and Pierre Sautet, the Deputy Commercial Director of Air France. Initiated a year prior to its unveiling, the poster was part of a series designed to encapsulate the allure of various destinations. The entire collection, including the Air France Japan poster, made its debut on October 26, 1967, at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
