Eliel Saarinen, A prototype armchair 'Hannes' manufactured early 1980s.

Mahogany. Upholstered seat with faux leather upholstery. Marked 'Proto S:joki'. Width 55 cm, seat height 44 cm, total height 80 cm.

Wear due to age and use. Marks. The general impression is good. The chair is not stable as the legs are slightly different lengths.

Provenance

Carpenter Toivo Kykkänen manufactured all prototypes of Elilel Saarinen's models for ADELTA in the carpenter's workshop in Suonenjoki. This armchair corresponds to the ADELTA plaque-marked armchairs that were later on sale.
