Gunnar Erik Ström was a painter, draughtsman, graphic artist, and sculptor. Gunnar Ström decorated, among other things, the main restaurant for the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923, and in 1924 he created ceiling paintings in the Hotel Palace in Gothenburg. Other major commissions included the mirror paintings in the Swedish American Line's m/s Kungsholm (1928) and m/s Stockholm (1948), as well as the artistic decoration for several cinemas in Gothenburg.
