A large mantle clock, France, second half of the 19th century.

Patinated and gilded bronze. Architectural pedestal on lion's paws, dial with enamelled Roman numerals. Decorated with laurel festoons and a seated Venus with Amor holding a mirror. Base of black and red stone. Width 65, depth 23, height 63 cm.

The stone base with some damage and chips. Natural variations and feathering in the stone. The clock has not been function tested or thoroughly examined. Some wear, marks, and stains. Keys included.
